Description
Michael Pacher's Annunciation painting is a late Renaissance masterpiece. The artist managed to capture the scene of the Annunciation with great emotional intensity and great technical mastery. In the 19th century, the painting was sold to a private collector and later became part of the collection of the Vienna Art Museum, where it is currently located.
One of the lesser known aspects of the work is its original size. The painting measures 100 x 97 cm, making it a relatively small work compared to other Renaissance masterpieces. However, this does not diminish its visual and emotional impact. The work is a showcase of Michael Pacher's talent and skill as an artist, and is one of the most important works of the late Renaissance in Austria.
