The study of the painting "The ceiling - 1925" (Le Plafond - 1925) by Louis Soutter leads us to immerse ourselves in the disturbing and, often, disturbing depths of the human soul. Henri-Louis Soutter, born in 1871 in Morges, Switzerland, was an artist whose life and work are marked by the fight against mental illness and the misunderstanding of a society that was not prepared for his revolutionary and tormentous vision of art.
