Description

The tragic love story of Tristan and Iseult has been told and retold through various stories and manuscripts. It takes place during medieval times during the reign of King Arthur.

Iseult of Ireland was the daughter of the King of Ireland. She was engaged to King Mark of Cornwall. King Mark sent his nephew, Tristan, to Ireland to escort Iseult back to Cornwall.

Before leaving Ireland, Iseult's mother gave Iseult's maiden Brangraine a love potion with strict instructions to keep her safe until they reached Cornwall. At some point during the journey, Iseult and Tristan accidentally drank the potion and fell in love forever.

Iseult married Mark of Cornwall, but she couldn't help but love Tristram. The love story continued after marriage. When King Mark finally found out about the affair, he pardoned Isolde, but Tristan was driven from Cornwall. They both died of grief.
