Description

Kazimir Malevich, a pioneer and visionary of modern art, is widely known by the Foundation of Supremeism. In his work "Landscape with Casa Amarilla" (1907), we observed a different facet of his artistic journey that precedes the radical style that consecrated him in the history of the art of the twentieth century.

The work, a vivid and evocative representation, immediately captures attention with its bold color use. Dominated by the bright yellow tones that give name to the piece, the house in the center of the composition stands out not only for its vibrant color, but also by the nuances that Malevich uses to give life and texture. This use of color reflects influences of post -impressionism and fauvism, movements that also explored the limits of chromatic representation during the first years of the twentieth century.

The scene presents a feeling of pastoral serenity. The yellow house, centered and highlighted, is accompanied by a series of natural elements that make up the surrounding landscape. A sky of soft and degraded tones, which goes from blue cerúleo to white, frames the contours of the house and its surroundings, giving the composition a feeling of depth. Earth and foliage are articulated in earthly and green colors, creating a harmonious contrast with the yellow vibrant of the main structure.

While there is a remarkable absence of human figures, this omission seems intentional, perhaps aimed at inviting the viewer to project their own presence and narratives on the scene. The house itself, with its inclined red roof and dark windows, suggests a story a life potentially contained within its walls that each observer can imagine from their own perspective.

It is interesting to note that in this work, Malevich had not yet embraced the geometric and abstract radicalism that characterizes its suprematist period. On the other hand, "landscape with Casa Amarilla" allows us to glimpse Malevich's ability to work within a more figurative tradition, where Cézanne and Van Gogh's influences were still perceived. This styles transition underlines Malevich's versatility as an artist, who not only broke with the past conventions, but also dominated the previous visual languages.

The period in which Malevich painted this work was decisive. The Russia of the early twentieth century was in cultural and political effervescence, conditions that inevitably left an imprint on the art of the moment. Works such as "Landscape with Casa Amarilla" can be seen as a meeting point between the Old World and the new ways of thinking and seeing.

Malevich's work in this painting is not only an encapsulation of his talent, but also an invaluable window to his early explorations. This "landscape with Casa Amarilla" represents a moment of search and consolidation of its artistic voice. Through its lyricism and its technique, the piece offers a enduring testimony of the evolution of one of the most innovative artists of the twentieth century.
