Description
The painting presents a highly intense geometric abstract composition, organized on a red ground that envelops the entire surface. Two concentric circular forms are aligned on the vertical axis: the upper, resembling a radial disc, combines a blue center, a white ring and a yellow toothed edge; the lower reappears partially at the edge of the canvas with a similar chromatic structure. Around them unfold curved white and blue bands, while several black, angular elongated shapes cross the center. In the lower area, green, white and yellow stripes introduce a horizontal base that contrasts with the diagonal movement of the whole.
The title, Pageant Before the War, invites one to imagine the work as an abstract spectacle set in a moment of latent tension.
