Composition VIII is an abstract painting created by the Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky in 1923. It is regarded as one of the most important works of Kandinsky’s career and is a notable example of lyrical abstraction, a style he helped develop.
What is the appeal of this painting? Even if one begins to try to describe the individual appearance of the various circular forms, neither the point, the ball, the disk, the circular object of the globe, nor the orb serve to precisely determine its character.
What is interesting about this work is that Kandinsky painted it after experiencing a major personal and artistic crisis.
